Zebra Technologies introduces sleek enterprise mobile computer to boost frontline productivity

Zebra Technologies Corporation, a global leader in digitising and automating frontline workflows, today unveiled its new EM45 Enterprise Mobile, designed to improve productivity for frontline managers and workers across the retail, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, and warehouse industries. The sleek yet rugged enterprise mobile computer delivers enhanced workflow efficiency and device security.

According to Zebra’s latest research, most frontline workers prefer company-issued mobile computers for communication, collaboration, and workload management:

  • Warehouse associates emphasise the importance of using ergonomic mobile devices (88%), communication apps (87%), and task management tools (91%) to address workplace challenges.
  • 87% of retail associates feel more valued when provided with technology tools, and over 85% prefer using store-issued mobile devices for team collaboration and managing schedules and workloads.
  • Healthcare leaders in non-clinical roles consider mobile computers among the top three transformative technologies for enhancing inventory accuracy and visibility.

The EM45 offers dual personal and work profile capabilities, which means users only need to carry one device. Powered by an AI-capable Qualcomm processor, the device features one-touch, push-to-talk collaboration and three custom action buttons to enable barcode scanning and distress call alerts.

With Zebra’s Workstation Connect, the EM45 instantly transforms into a full desktop experience with a powerful battery that provides up to 25 hours of uptime. And the Zebra DNA software suite simplifies its setup, deployment and device management.

“This new class of sleek enterprise mobile computers can be carried in your pocket as a company-owned, personally enabled device,” said James Poulton, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Mobile Computing, Zebra Technologies. “The EM45 enables better real-time decision-making along with improved collaboration, orchestration, and intelligence for frontline workers across multiple industries.”

Built for the demands of modern enterprises, the EM45 empowers workers in a variety of use cases with a robust, ergonomic solution:

  • In retail, the EM45 can read digital wallets and take payments as well as quickly scan and track products, making it easier to manage stock levels, restock inventory, and reduce shrinkage.
  • For postal, transportation and logistics providers, the EM45 enhances route management, and provides proof of delivery with its high-performance 50MP rear camera, optimised for detailed photos, videos, and fast barcode reading.
  • In healthcare, the EM45 enables clinicians to track the location and status of patients and medical equipment.

The new EM45 is part of the recently launched EM45 series, which also includes the EM45 RFID model that offers a built-in short-range RFID reader for precise inventory counts and task completion without the need to juggle multiple devices.
