Makro & Game respond to big ticket online search trends with BIG Black Friday price REDUCTIONS

Increased traffic on both Makro and Game websites indicate the terms airfryers, fridges, washing machines and premium liquor as being the top search terms as we head closer to Black Friday.

“South African shoppers are very strategic when it comes to big ticket items. They do their research early – sometimes even pausing big tickets purchases as Black Friday approaches. With the objective of generating long-term savings,’ says Langa Khanyile Marketing Executive at Massmart

Makro and Game have responded to this by offering discounts of up to 50% off airfryers, fridges, washing machines and premium liquor amongst other items. Specific examples to look out for from Makro and Game are their deals on:

- Samsung 58” for R5 999, save R4 000

 - Lenovo Intel Core i5 Laptop @ 7 999, save R3,000

- Hisense 7 kg Front Loader Washing Machine @ 4 499, Save R2 500

- 16” or 20” Raleigh Quest BMX for R899

- Spekko Long Grain Parboiled Rice 2 kg – Buy 3 for R80

Khanyile adds, “With Makro however we’ve also seen more shoppers taking advantage of bulk-buy deals on groceries as a way to unlock more value. By purchasing larger quantities at discounted prices, customers are able to lower the overall cost of their everyday essentials and still ensure that they’re stocked up.”

To make Black Friday shopping even easier, both retailers are also offering free delivery on online orders over R500. Customers can also use the Pickup option to shop online and collect the next day from their nearest store.

Both the Makro and Game Black Friday promotions launch on 24 October 2025 and will run from then and throughout the full month of November with other exclusive deals being released throughout the month.
