V3 Retail Displays – the better & better specialists in commercial refrigeration and shopfitting – has expanded its portfolio for modern, space-conscious stores, Grande-Lux Island Freezers feature a panoramic glass design with visibility from the front, sides and top, turning frozen products into a strong visual focal point. Units can be configured as plug-in cluster islands, creating flexible promotional blocks without the need for major construction or pipework changes.

A key detail is the glass lids that open front-to-back rather than left-to-right, allowing more shoppers to access the same island at once – a big advantage in daily peak trading hours.

Complementing the islands, Grande-Lux uprights and bottle coolers are finished with sleek, frameless glass doors and clean, minimal lines that let the product lead the presentation. Behind the glass, the range is built around energy-efficient systems to help retailers manage running costs while still delivering strong sales performance on the shop floor.

Across the market, there is a clear shift towards plug-in / self-contained refrigeration. Retailers value the ease of installation, layout flexibility and simpler maintenance that plug-in units offer. At the same time, V3 Retail Displays continues to champion high-performance remote uprights, delis and island freezers, especially where throughput, merchandising and accessibility are critical.

From V3’s experience with progressive retailers, plug-in island freezers are often perceived to be significantly more energy efficient than remote islands, but in practice the difference can be smaller than many expect. For many operators, the real trade-off is between flexibility and perceived energy savings on one side, and maximum accessibility and “pull power” on the other. Keeping product as open and accessible as possible – particularly during peak hours – remains a powerful driver of volume in many store formats.

By adding Grande-Lux to its line-up, V3 Retail Displays now offers retailers a full spectrum of premium refrigeration options – from remote systems to plug-in clusters – all designed and supported by a team focused on helping stores trade better & better.

What we mean by “pull power”
In retail, “pull power” refers to how strongly a display attracts shoppers and pulls product off the shelf – combining visibility, accessibility and ease of shopping to turn passersby into buyers.

What we mean by throughput is the speed at which products move through your business – from arriving as stock to leaving the store as sales. In simple terms, it’s how quickly and efficiently you turn inventory into cash.
