Boxer assists Kwaximba with SAPS victim friendly facility upgrades

| Social Responsibility

Boxer has successfully completed a meaningful support project with SAPS Umsunduzi, based in KwaXimba, through the completion of a Victim Friendly Facility (VFF) at the station.

The facility has been created to support survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and other vulnerable members of the community. It offers a safe, private and caring space where people can be assisted with dignity, compassion and respect. Victim Friendly Facilities play a vital role in strengthening community support systems. They help ensure that victims reporting trauma-related cases are able to do so in a place that is carefully designed to provide comfort and reassurance during what is often a difficult and emotional time.

Boxer donated a number of critical items to the Facility including hygiene and care products, chairs, tables, rugs, air coolers, shelving, air scent, pillows, sheets, dustbins, a sleeper couch, TVs, installation, artwork, paving, window blinds, and more.

A crucial part of the facility’s effectiveness is the human support behind it. The VFF will be coordinated by Constable Myeza, who will assist individuals in need by guiding them through the process with sensitivity and ensuring they receive appropriate care, support and referrals. “The VFF is a key way my team and the SAPS can assist our community, particularly the vulnerable, and especially with cases such as rape and gender-based violence, which are particularly heinous and devastating. This facility plays a big role in that. Thank you to Boxer for assisting with this facility. It makes a massive difference and helps us support our community even more,” said Myeza.

“The completion of the facility forms part of Boxer’s broader commitment to supporting safer communities and contributing to initiatives that protect and uplift vulnerable people, particularly survivors of GBV and those who require immediate emotional care and assistance. Boxer is proud to assist the SAPS in their efforts to end the scourge of GBV in South Africa,” said Boxer’s Group Executive for Stakeholder Engagement and Sustainability.
