Retail skills programme opens career pathways for over 1 000 young South Africans

| Social Responsibility

Over 1 000 young South Africans have recently been enrolled in the Shoprite Group’s seven-week Retail Readiness Programme (RRP), including a new cohort from Khayelitsha.

The retail skill-building programme – designed for unemployed youth aged 18 to 34 – provides a blend of theory and in-store practical training, equipping participants with essential retail, customer service and workplace readiness skills. Successful learners earn an NQF Level 3, kick-starting their careers in retail.

Since its launch in 2016, the RRP has trained more than 40 000 young people, helping to tackle youth unemployment by opening doors to long-term career opportunities. Applications are open year-round.

Interested candidates can WhatsApp “Hello” to 072 773 4335 and select “Our Store” to apply.
