A surprise helicopter landing brought extra “gees” to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital’s 70th birthday, as Checkers Sixty60 joined the party ready to lift spirits and create shared moments of excitement.

On board were radio and television personality Carl Wastie and a few Sixty60 drivers, who delivered Krispy Kreme doughnuts and goodie bags filled with treats like Padkos fruit snacks and Flyers Puffed Corn, to children across the hospital - sparking wide smiles and playful interactions with patients, families and healthcare teams.

Having access to essentials through Checkers Sixty60 has become more than a convenience - it’s a practical solution that eases pressure when it matters most. Inviting them to be part of our 70th celebration therefore feels like a natural extension of that support, bringing moments of joy to those who endure, and give, so much every day.”

 Sixty60 drivers had special deliveries for the little patients at the Red Cross Children's hospital.

In recognition of the long hours and sustained care demanded by their roles, Sixty60 also made sure to give a well-deserved nod to the hospital staff, donating coffee machines, microwaves and toasters for the nurses’ and doctors’ lounges.
