| Store Openings

Boxer Superstores proudly marked the opening of its 500th store in Southern Africa, welcoming shoppers to the new location at Port Shepstone Mall on the 24th of October.

The event drew many interested residents, including excited locals and community leaders such as the Mayor of Ray Nkonyeni Municipality, Cllr. Zodwa Mzindle. Festivities, specials, and community spirit set the tone for a memorable day.

Boxer’s journey to 500 stores highlights its unwavering commitment to providing quality and affordability in every community it serves. Trading within three formats; Boxer Superstores, Boxer Build and Boxer Liquors, Boxer has become one of South Africa’s most trusted retailers, known for its dedication to value and service.

With its six Distribution Centres strategically located across South Africa, and a purpose-built Meat Factory based in KwaZulu-Natal, Boxer ensures that every store is stocked with quality offerings at accessible prices. The Boxer Rewards Club, a fairly new addition to the brand’s arsenal of innovative tools, has grown in popularity from its recent introduction, and boasts hundreds of thousands of members, who enjoy a long list of exceptional benefits plus more that the rewards card offers.

From its beginnings in KwaZulu-Natal 47 years ago to its extensive reach today, which includes a number of stores in neighbouring Eswatini, Boxer has consistently brought value-driven service to Southern African households, and has no intentions of slowing down on its belief that shoppers should ‘Never pay more than the Boxer price.’

Boxer’s Managing Executive, Marek Masojada, shared his thoughts on this achievement at the grand opening: “Opening our 500th store here, in the province where Boxer began 47 years ago is incredibly special. This milestone honours our roots and symbolises our promise to continue bringing more savings and value to communities across Southern Africa.”
