South Africa’s leading fuel and convenience brand, Engen proudly celebrated the grand opening of its new flagship Engen Sandton Convenience Centre on 10 July 2025.

Situated in the heartbeat of Sandton at 104 Katherine Street, the premier site marked a major milestone: the 100th Woolworths Foodstop opened at an Engen forecourt in South Africa.

As a hub of modern convenience, Engen Sandton Convenience Centre offers a full bouquet of premium retail convenience, including: a Quickshop & Co. convenience store, Café 365 bakery, Brazmata barista coffee, Nandos, and the much-loved Woolworths Foodstop, alongside its premium quality fuels, Engen Primax Unleaded and Engen Dynamic Diesel.

“Our new flagship site in Sandton underscores Engen’s ongoing commitment to innovation, service excellence and customer convenience, as well as a bold statement of our ambition,” commented Enoch Hermanus, Engen General Manager: Retail.

“With the opening of the 100th Woolworths Foodstop, this is a double celebration for us – and for our customers.”

To mark the occasion, Engen hosted a fun-filled public celebration on site, with entertainment, giveaways and exciting promotions, including:

  • A Spin the Wheel competition for the chance to win Engen 1app vouchers
  • A share of R50,000 in prizes for shoppers who spent R100 or more in-store
  • Surprise R500 fuel discounts at the pumps
  • Brazmata coffee giveaways and Café 365 treats
  • Family-friendly fun with popcorn, a live DJ, and photobooth moments

As a landmark in Engen’s expanding retail journey, the Sandton Convenience Centre is purposefully positioned to meet the fast-paced lifestyle of residents, commuters and urban customers – delivering quality fuel, fresh food, and all-day convenience.

“Quickshop & Co., Café 365 and Brazmata are at the heart of Engen’s convenience strategy,” added Hermanus, “We’re continuously evolving our offerings to ensure we remain the number one choice for South Africans on the move.”

With over 1,050 service stations nationwide and a growing network of Café 365 and Brazmata outlets, Engen continues to redefine the South African fuel retail landscape.
