The Pantry by Marble

The Pantry by Marble, which opened in 2022, is a forecourt convenience shop, but at the same time, it is not. It is ‘fancy but easy’, a combination of supermarket, deli, takeaway and retail. It is a hub for meeting people and finding some of the most interesting foods and goodies from around the world.

“The moment you step out of your car, you are welcomed, and you need to feel special,” explains manager Sandile Nkosi. You can feel that from the start – from the well-secured parking to the welcoming smiles and attentiveness from the staff.

The store is situated in a Sasol Petrol Station, on Jan Smuts Ave, Rosebank. The Pantry is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with a staff complement of 80. There is an eclectic group of people who visit, from school teenagers in their uniforms sitting around with friends over a pizza to elderly couples having a lovely slow cup of coffee and a slice of cake. Youngsters head straight for the ice cream bar and excitedly choose from an array of sprinkles for their ice cream, while in the seated area, a business meeting is taking place

Then, hot on the heels, are the morning traffic commuters looking for that quick bite for breakfast. And that is just the start of the day!
