SPAR makes Black Friday count with a value-packed essentials basket for R374

| News

SPAR’s approach to Black Friday 2025 centres on affordability where it matters: staple foods, household basics, and products consumers rely on every week. Using deals from SPAR’s national Black Friday digital leaflet, shoppers can put together a practical, multi-meal grocery basket of household favourites for less than R375.

Affordable everyday staples - all in one shop

SPAR's savings are anchored in items South Africans rely on most, allowing shoppers to stock up on core ingredients without compromising their budgets. A sample essentials basket includes:

  • 5kg SPAR IQF Chicken Portions – R178.99
  • 2L Sunflower Oil – R59.99
  • 10kg SPAR Super Maize Meal – R69.99
  • 2kg Tastic Rice – R25
  • Koo Baked Beans 400g – 2 for R26
  • Fatti's & Moni's Macaroni or Spaghetti Pasta 500g – R14

With a SPAR Rewards card, the total is R374 for a basket that stretches across several meals and meets the needs of an average household.

SPAR’s national Black Friday leaflet is live ahead of the promotional period (27-30 November), giving customers more time to plan their shop: My SPAR Black Friday Leaflet 2025

"With food prices remaining top-of-mind for South African families, we have focused its Black Friday effort on essentials that genuinely support household budgets. From starches and proteins to pantry must-haves, our discounts are designed to make a visible difference at the till and in the lives the communities we serve," says Keegan Alicks, National Advertising & Promotions Executive at SPAR.
