Maxiflex launches Atmodoor 2.0 - hinged on local innovation

Maxiflex is extremely proud to announce that it’s highly successful, renowned, in-house designed and developed Atmodoor has been given a make-over!

“In keeping with our drive for continuous innovation and improvement, we decided that it was time to give our popular and long-selling Atmodoor, also referred to an impact, traffic, or swing door, an upgrade,” states Jacques Snyman, National Operations Manager at Maxiflex. “The Covid-19 pandemic presented us with the perfect opportunity to do our homework. Investing in extensive R&D as well as in feedback from our valuable customers, we implemented a number of improvements to offer users a seamless solution. We focused the upgrade mainly on the door hinges and fitted a new innovative and rugged double-action swing hinge with a stainless steel pin. Although this is a back-end door, we also wanted to address aesthetics. The new-generation door now boasts a more modern look combined with a softer, less industrial appearance. We have essentially taken the tried, tested and proven Atmodoor and made it even better.”

Available in single and double versions, the impact door’s double swing action to 90° facilitates trolley and pedestrian traffic. Staff can push the doors open with trolleys or by using their elbows in an easy hands-free motion; the doors will simply swing open and close behind them. This function also has a positive impact on the environment by helping to keep interior temperatures constant, subsequently reducing energy consumption.

Atmodoor is widely used in the food, retail and hospitality industries including supermarkets, butcheries, hotels, restaurants, pharmacies, laundries, processing plants and industrial kitchens. The impact door creates an effective barrier that separates supermarket shop floors from storage and/or butchery areas, restaurant kitchens from the diners, shopping mall back-end sections from general public areas or basically any restricted areas that require privacy.

Manufactured from solid HDPE (high-density polyethylene) material, the rugged 15mm thick doors handle high traffic areas with ease. Optional stainless steel kick plates help to protect the doors from trolley impact, further extending longevity. The doors can be used in environments with temperatures ranging from -30° to 60° C.

With a wide selection of optional extras to choose from, customers are able to customise their door solution to meet their specific application requirements. Extras include stainless steel push plates, handles and frames, bumpers and finger pinches. The doors are supplied with standard sized 15mm thick windows but can also be fitted with smaller windows for enhanced privacy.  Atmodoor is available in modern light grey which is a neutral colour that blends easily into any interior.
