Staycold International are now offering a variation to their range, the SD1140 Carbon Edition. This is a black version of their flagship double sliding door upright cooler, the SD1140 unit.

This came about in answer to requests from the market and has been made possible due to the new manufacturing equipment Staycold has recently purchased. A run is now available for the South African, African and Export markets.

This new carbon unit has a more exclusive, premier look to it with the sides, header panel and interior of the unit in black. It has been made available for venues, shops, restaurants, bottlers and corporates who wish to have the unit stand out in a classy environment and display more stylish beverages.

The investment in manufacturing equipment for their ISO 9001:2015 factory in Parys, Free State included a coil to laser cutting machine from Laser ISSE in Turkey during March 2023. This machine, a first of its kind in Africa, arrived in early July. Laser ISSE’s engineering team then spent two weeks setting up and commissioning this, which cuts material directly from the coil helping with optimization and decreasing wastage.

The SD1140 Carbon Edition (SD1140-CE) is also available in Hydrocarbon refrigerant (R290) which is a net-zero compatible alternative to HFC-based systems. The cooler also features high energy efficient fans, Danfoss digital energy management device, Low E-Glass doors and ECOMate® Insulation foam, all of which further assists with reducing its carbon footprint.
