Affectionately known as ‘Coastals’, the co-op has grown to 17 stores with a R1.2 billion annual turn-over, making it the largest purchaser of farming requisites in the KwaZulu-Natal coastal belt.

Khalid Latiff, Engen’s General Manager: Lubricants says the company’s relationship with Coastals spans over half a century.

“Given our close long-standing ties with the broader agricultural sector, Engen would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Coastals as they celebrate their significant milestone.”

To mark the occasion, says Latiff, Engen is offering Coastal customers some super specials, including the chance to win a drone valued at R16k.

“Qualifying customer’s need to purchase 60 litres of any of the participating Engen and Coastals products, as part of the ‘buy 3, get one free’ 75th birthday special.”

Russel Govender, Trading Manager for Coastals praised Engen for their decades-long technical, marketing and field support.

“Engen products are of the highest quality which meets and exceeds specifications for all agricultural machinery - this aligns well with Coastals’ ethos of quality and service.”

Engen supplies a range of high-performance, superior quality Engen and PETRONAS branded fuels and lubricants to farmers specifically suited to harsh Southern African conditions.
These products have been tested and endorsed by most manufacturers of modern agricultural equipment operating in the region.
Adds Latiff: “As the leading supplier of fuels and lubricants to the agricultural and farming sector, we are grateful to our valued customers for their ongoing support.

“With more than a century of experience lubricating and protecting agricultural equipment in often severe operating environments, our hard-working products have been developed to provide the best protection for farming equipment in order to increase productivity and reduce costs.”

And while it may be difficult to control the external factors that lead to engine degradation, Engen and PETRONAS lubricants provide certainty over what goes into your engine.
“Our quality lubricants combat soot, sludge and engine wear, providing exceptional piston cleanliness and optimal viscosity, all of which assures you that your machinery is running optimally, down to the very last drop,” says Latiff.
