Morrisons’ new chief executive to seek customer opinion on how to improve its offer

Morrisons’ new chief executive David Potts officially started work yesterday with his first task gaining feedback from customers on what changes they want to see at the retailer.

With sales and profits falling, David Potts has a mammoth task ahead of him to halt the decline and claw back lost market share from the discounters. He is due to launch a video on the company’s Facebook page today asking for customer’s opinions on what would make the chain more appealing. “I want to know what you love, what you want less of and what you need more of,” he will say.

He is also expected to visit the company’s many manufacturing sites and tour the country visiting numerous stores. He will also spend time working in a store in the coming weeks.

The former Tesco executive was appointed to lead the business following the resignation of former Chief Executive Dalton Philips in January.
