Click-and-Collect grows by 8% in France

Harris Interactive France, the market-research firm, has carried out a study that shows that 36 per cent of French consumers have now used click-and-collect services to carry out their grocery shopping – up eight percentage points on December 2013, when the last such survey was conducted, LSA-Conso.fr reports.

LSA estimates that there are currently close to 3,900 click-and-collect sites in France. The publication states that the research shows that once a consumer has begun to acquire their goods through a particular grocer’s click-and-collect service, there is a very strong chance of long-term loyalty to the supermarket chain, as well as to the mode of shopping.

Harris Interactive believes that the click-and-collect platform could gain popularity at a faster rate if companies would invest in opening more units for this purpose.

On a less positive note, the publication also states that some consumers feel that they occasionally encounter a 'lack of attention to their shopping expectations, as well as a lack of pleasure in the shopping experience, and limited access to additional services’.
