In today's fast-paced logistics world, sustainability isn't just a buzzword—it's a necessity. For fleet owners and logistics companies, balancing operational efficiency with eco-friendly practices is often a challenge. Mobius Energy Technologies steps in to offer a revolutionary solution that not only keeps cargo at the perfect temperature but also significantly reduces fuel costs and carbon footprints.

The Future of Cold Chain Transportation

Mobius has developed a cutting-edge solar-powered refrigeration system designed specifically for trucks and trailers. This technology integrates world-leading advancements in low-voltage batteries, inverters, and Solar PV, providing a clean and sustainable alternative to traditional diesel-powered refrigeration units. With fuel savings ranging from 8,000 to 15,000 liters per vehicle per year, Mobius is helping businesses transition to greener operations without sacrificing performance. Mobius has partnered with Transport Cooling Africa, the distributor of all Themo King refrigeration units in South Africa to provide a world leading system.

Real Savings, Real Results

Switching to Mobius isn't just about going green—it's also about financial savings. Clients have reported up to a 60% reduction in total vehicle fuel consumption, with payback periods as short as 2-3 years. Additionally, businesses could qualify for a tax rebate on 125% of the capital value of the units, making the investment even more rewarding.

Proven Technology, Reliable Performance

With over 100,000 hours of operational time across South Africa's toughest conditions, Mobius's solar-powered refrigeration units have proven their reliability. The company's real-time telematics system provides over 100 critical data points, allowing fleet managers to monitor key metrics like fuel savings, solar energy generation, and temperature control from anywhere via an easy-to-use portal.

Safety First, Always

Safety is paramount in Mobius's product offering. The system operates at a low voltage of just 48V, ensuring it is safe to the touch. In the event of an accident, multiple safety protocols automatically activate, safeguarding both operators and road users.

Seamless Integration, Unmatched Flexibility

Downtime concerns are mitigated with Mobius's non-invasive design. The system is engineered to work independently from a vehicle's operations and Thermo-King refrigeration units. The diesel engine in the Thermo-King unit serves as a backup, providing assurance that cargo will remain cool under all circumstances.

The Solar Electric refrigeration unit is built with fleet owners in mind. It is compatible with the full range of Thermo-King refrigeration units—from the T500 to T1200, and Advancer & SLXi Trailer units—and can be easily transferred across different vehicles and unit types. Its modular design allows components like batteries and electronic parts to be swapped out as needed, keeping maintenance costs low.

Beyond Refrigeration: More Ways to Save

Mobius's commitment to innovation extends beyond refrigeration units. The company has developed a system that eliminates the need for alternators and idling in non-refrigerated vehicles, saving up to 1,000 litres of diesel per year. This low-voltage solar technology charges a lithium battery, which in turn powers the vehicle's main battery, which reduces fuel consumption and emissions. The vehicles alternator will act as a backup power supply if solar energy is insufficient.

Joining the Green Revolution

Mobius Energy is dedicated to assisting clients in decarbonizing their fleets. Its solar-powered refrigeration systems not only reduce environmental impact but also deliver substantial cost savings, making it a win-win for businesses and the planet.

Businesses interested in making the switch can contact Mobius Energy Technologies or Transport Cooling Africa to learn how to start saving fuel and cutting emissions with their innovative solutions.
