Dis-Chem for a healthier tomorrow with Disney Africa

| On the move

Following the overwhelming success of the previous Disney MicroPopz, Popstix and Frozen 2 playing Cardz promotions, Dis-Chem and Disney Africa are again teaming up to bring customers a brand new, exciting shop-and-collect range with the exclusive Disney Healthy-To-Go series this August.

Featuring seven washable, reusable food and drink containers, the Mickey Mouse and Friends-themed range is inspired by Disney Africa and Dis-Chem’s commitment to inspiring families and helping them to live healthier lifestyles.

For every R125 spent, shoppers will be able to add to their 45-sticker collection journey, either with the collector’s card available in-store, or via the Dis-Chem app, available for download on IOS and Android devices. All purchases made in-store and online will be eligible, with certain promotional offers awarding shoppers with an extra sticker, and if you are collecting stickers via the Dis-Chem app, you will receive your first three stickers FREE! What is even better, is that each redeemable item equals a different number of stickers, so shoppers can collect based on which item they like the most. Extra stickers will also be offered on selected participating brands.

The Disney Healthy-To-Go series of products are BPA free, highly functional items, that could be used by the everyday consumer looking for food and drink containers that are easily washable and allow them to transport healthy and fresh foods. Eliminating the need for single-use plastic for storage and transport, both hot and cold food and drink can be carried in the containers which are suitable for fridge and freezer storage and all items, except for the transparent plastic lids, are dishwasher and microwave safe.

“What sparked our interest in the series, and why we pursued this campaign with Disney Africa, is that these products advocate for leading a healthier lifestyle. We are pleased to be part of Disney’s commitment to promoting health and wellness.” says Saul Saltzman, executive director at Dis-Chem.

Luke Roberts, General Manager, Consumer Products, Games and Publishing, The Walt Disney Company Africa comments: “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Dis-Chem to bring their customers a fourth engaging and innovative campaign. We are also excited to introduce the Healthy-To-Go range that is inspired by The Walt Disney Company’s long-standing, global commitment to inspire healthy living through imaginative and entertaining family content.”

Since 2006, Disney has been committed to helping families make healthier choices, using its stories and characters to make healthy living simple and fun. Since then, Disney has been looking at the different ways it can support families to live more healthily. This includes introducing robust nutritional guidelines for food and drinks as well as their advertising and offering content that positively focuses on healthier lifestyles, such

Shoppers will be able to redeem a kid’s water bottle, a yoghurt/soup beaker, a lunchbox, drinking bottle infuser, a salad box, kid’s lunchbox, and an adult’s lunchbox, each themed with Mickey Mouse and his friends Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck, Pluto and Goofy artwork. The lowest redeemable item is the kid’s water bottle for only 20 stickers, with the adult lunchbox needing the full 45 sticker card to be complete for redemption.

“We are excited to be running this promo as previously our redeemable items have been more focused at children and play, while this time the whole family can join in the fun too. Promoting a healthier lifestyle is core to our values at Dis-Chem,” Saltzman adds. “If we can be a part of creating a healthier society, we have won just one of our battles.”
