With under 75 days to #Comrades2024 race day, the Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) has announced that South Africa’s largest fuel and convenience company, Engen has partnered with the Comrades Marathon as the Official Fuel Supplier this year.

CMA Race & Operations Manager, Ann Ashworth confirmed the partnership, saying, “It is really pleasing to see the value that the Comrades Marathon holds for a leading brand like Engen. We are proud to onboard this proudly South African brand as a partner to The Ultimate Human Race.”

Boasting their ever-popular tagline, ‘With us you are Number One,’ Engen operates a marketing leading 1 000+ service station across the length and breadth of South Africa.

Engen, voted South Africa’s “Coolest Petrol Station” in the Sunday Times Generation Next survey for the past 14 consecutive years, has consistently captivated the hearts of local motorists and shoppers by not only offering quality fuels and exceptional forecourt service, but also through its exclusive partnerships with much loved South African brands such as Woolworths Foodstop, Wimpy, Steers, and Debonairs, as well as courier service, DSV.

Engen Brand & Sponsorship Manager, Tsholo Tiro says, “It is an honour to partner with the Comrades Marathon, the world’s greatest ultra-marathon. The iconic, challenging and beautiful 90km route between Pietermaritzburg and Durban echoes Engen’s dedication to serving South Africans on their memorable road trips. With Engen’s strong presence along the route, we are proud to join hands with a powerful and much-loved brand like Comrades, with whom we share not just an illustrious history in South Africa, but also many common values”

Ashworth adds, “Engen will also have its refreshment stations along the route at Angels Corner and Hillcrest, so runners can look forward to being refuelled the Engen way.”
