Makro’s massive new flagship store in Fourways

| Store Openings

Retail giant Makro has opened a massive new flagship store in Riversands, north of Fourways in Johannesburg.

The store measures 23,263m² in size and is modeled more on a department store instead of the more accustomed Makro warehouse.

Boasting ladies- and men’s-wear departments, a multimedia center, sports and recreation department, baby goods, office supplies, DIY and a combined outdoor, lifestyle and camping section, the store also offers a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, a butchery, and chilled and frozen foods for retail shoppers, caterers and businesses alike.

“Extra skylights brighten up every aisle, which along with solar panels in the parking area and responsible use of water throughout, help minimize the store’s carbon footprint,” Makro said.
