Waitrose wins back ‘Supermarket of the Year’ crown from Aldi

Waitrose has been named ‘Supermarket of the Year 2016’ at the annual Which? awards, regaining the title lost to Aldi last year.

The Which? Awards recognise and celebrate the UK’s best businesses and brands.

Waitrose won the battle of the supermarkets, competing against shortlisters Aldi, Iceland, Marks & Spencer and Ocado. Meanwhile, a hotly contested ‘Retailer of the Year 2016’ category, saw Toolstation beat John Lewis, AO.com, and Liz Earle to the top spot.

  • Travel Brand of the Year 2016: Premier Inn
  • Trusted Trader of the Year 2016: Electricians in Reading Ltd
  • Awards 10th Anniversary Award: Samsung
  • Positive Change Award 2016: CML
