Massmart recognises top performing matriculants
Massmart recognized South Africa’s top-performing students at the 2017 announcement of the National Senior Certificate Examinations results. The results were officially announced by the Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga at a ceremony held in Auckland Park, Johannesburg.
At a ceremony held, Massmart provided the top three achievers in quintiles one, two and three with tech educational hampers to the value of R70 000. The hampers are aimed at helping the students with their transition to tertiary and throughout the duration of their studies.
Each hamper consist of the following products:
- A Lenovo Mix 2-in-1 Windows Tablet that can act as a laptop;
- A wifi-enabled Hewlett Packard 3835 Deskjet Ink Advantage 4-in-1 Colour Inkjet Printer;
- Microsoft Office 365 home software;
- A Seagate 1.5TB external hard drive;
- Logitech wireless mouse;
- ROCKA Bluetooth Elegangsta speakers
Commenting on Massmart’s involvement in the awards, company Social Sustainability Specialist Laura Persse says, “Education remains an important part of our Socio-Economic Development focus as one of South Africa’s top retailers. Investing in our future leaders is a strategic non-negotiable imperative for us.”
