Clicks ClubCard celebrates hat trick at South African Loyalty Awards

| Awards and achievements

Clicks Clubcard has scooped three awards at the South African Loyalty Awards; namely Best Loyalty Programme of the Year in the retail sector for the second consecutive year; the Best Short-Term Loyalty Marketing Campaign of the Year for its Engen fuel partner launch; and Best Use of Multi-Channel Loyalty Communication/Engagement.

“We are delighted to once again be honoured by the South African Loyalty Awards which recognises excellence and showcases the best of South Africa’s loyalty programmes,” says Rachel Wrigglesworth, Chief Commercial Officer at Clicks. “This is a fitting tribute to all the hard work, dedication and commitment of our ClubCard team, as well as the continued support of our 8.6 million active ClubCard members.”

In the Awards Report, Awards judge Wendy Knowler commended Clicks ClubCard on remaining relevant and continuing to innovate 25 years after its launch. She said the judges were impressed that Clicks encouraged more customers to use the App rather than relying on card swipes during the Covid-19 pandemic. “Clicks really is leading the way for the best loyalty programme for its customers,” she said.

Clicks ClubCard’s affinity partner FNB’s rewards programme eBucks was also recognised as Best Loyalty Programme in the financial services category and for the Most Innovative Use of Technology for Loyalty Award. “What sets both ClubCard and eBucks from FNB apart,” says Wrigglesworth, “is a drive to consistently add value and convenience to our customers’ lives and in the process setting new industry benchmarks.”

Despite the challenges posed by an uncertain economic environment in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, Clicks recently reported growth in all beauty and health core categories and continues to
expand its retail footprint, with this week’s launch of its 750th store at Cape Quarter, Cape Town. The retailer’s convenient store network coupled with competitive pricing, differentiated products, strong online sales and the benefits offered by the Clicks ClubCard programme continue to ensure its enduring popularity with consumers.
